What’s in this for my family?
We help you strengthen your family. How? After your family learns the principles for the camp that they attend, they will be sent home with materials and instructions in how to build those principles into their daily family life. For example, after the camp which emphasizes family devotionals, you will be sent home with devotional material for your family to do together. You will learn what the bible says concerning roles of family members and biblical ways of relating to each other. Our camps can equips you, if you choose, to get involved in family ministry in your church.
How is your camp different from other camps?
The objective of our camp is a step by step approach of helping the family to deepen their relationships with each other. Through different levels of camps your family can experience Christian growth and be equipped for ministry to other families. If you choose to attend the 7 levels of camping you will experience the Christian attributes of prayer, devotions, testimony, exhortation, confession, worship, and service as a family lifestyle.
Do I have to attend all seven camps?
No, we have had families who were not able to attend all seven camp levels. Yet, they have told us that their family greatly benefitted from the camp that they attend.
Why are there seven camps?
Each camp contains Bible principles that are taken home and used in the daily life of a family. After each camp the families practice the principles that were taught in order to make it a lifestyle. Once these principles have been integrated, then your family is ready for the next camp level.
Will my family have fun at your camps?
Of course! Each day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by a day of sessions and camp activities which teach the principles of that particular camp to your family. The sessions involve all members of the family with skits, games and songs. The camp activities can include swimming, hiking, boating, sports activities, campfires, horseback riding and other activities that the camp site may provide.
Where do we have these camps?
American Family Camp is centered in the Texas Hill Country in Kerrville, Texas. We have camps available for your use and attendance. If your group or church has a camp available for use we can use your facilities. If the Texas Hill Country is too far for your group or family to travel we will work at finding a camp near you.
How much time does each camp take?
Each camp begins on Friday evening and ends on Sunday at noon.
Why do we have to go to a camp? Can’t we just do it at our church?
It is our experience that getting out of you familiar surrounding with your family makes your family camp special. It separates you from the distractions and concerns that we all have in our common life. It just works better.
How much does it cost?
The cost of each camp is approximately $550.00 for the average size family. This may vary depending on the campsite selected. Each family will have their own unit. Once you are at the camp everything that you need is provided.
